D-Cards (Bakery) For Sale
$590 This card featuring Willie Sherdel is part of the 1927 Middy Bread Die-Cut set, which is a regional (St. Louis) issue highly sought by vintage collectors due to its unique design and extreme scarcity. Sherdel was a key figure for the Cardinals during their 1926 and 1928 World Series runs. A crafty left-hander, he remains the winningest left-handed pitcher in Cardinals history with 153 wins for the franchise. The year 1927, when this card was issued, was one of Sherdel's best seasons, where he went 17-12 with a 3.28 ERA. The card is graded as SGC Auth due to tape and slight paper loss on the back. Otherwise, a very appealing example for the set. Further details about this 1927 Middy Bread Die-Cuts are provided on the Old Cardboard website.
$410 This card was produced by the Pacific Coast Biscuit Co. It is part of a set of 72 cards featuring Pacific Coast League players, equally distributed among six teams. The cards are unnumbered with the entire 72-card checklist printed on each of the card backs. This Akin example is in very good condition with two very minor dot stains at the upper right (see scans for detail). Further details about this 1911 D310 Set are provided on the Old Cardboard website.
The Gassler's Bread was among several sponsors that printed ads on the backs of what would otherwise be labeled as W575-1 strip cards. They share the same graphics and checklist although the full checklist for the Gassler's set has not been confirmed in the hobby. Gassler cards are considerably more scarce and thair values are roughly 3-4 times their W575-1 counterparts. Appealing condition with normal wear and no creases. Further details about this set can be found here.
$125 White Sox outfielder Gus Zernial is featured on this 1951-1953 Fisher's Bread issue. Colorful card preserved without any tears or trimming at the bottom as found on many examples. Further details about this 1951 D290-1 Bread Label set are provided on the Old Cardboard website.. | ||||||||||||||
