1961 Wrigley Field Exhibits Complete High-Grade Set
$1,500
      SOLD

This attractive 1961 Wrigley Field Exhibit Complete Set features 24 all-time superstars of the game--all now in the baseball Hall of Fame.

Key to the set is an appealing pose of Babe Ruth, but the set also includes cards featuring Ty Cobb, Lou Gehrig, Honus Wagner, Christy Mathewson, Pete Alexander, Mel Ott and many more.

The condition is a substantial "like new" for all cards (typical example is that of Ruth shown in scan). All of the cards have sharp corners and no chips, markings, stains, tears or other visible flaws. Backs are equally flawless.

Further details about the Wrigley Field Exhibits Set are provided on the Old Cardboard website.

1925 Exhibits "World's Champions" in Poor Condition -- Babe Ruth

$3250
      SOLD

Babe Ruth is the only baseball player included in this 32-card "World's Champions" Exhibit set produced in 1925. The very scarce card from an extremely scarce set makes it one of the most sought after cards of the period.

This example is in poor condition with multiple creases as shown in the high resolution images. Nevertheless, it is an appealing well-loved card without any tears or significant stains or markings. A great addition to any vintage collection.

Further details about the 1925 Exhibits Set are provided on the Old Cardboard website..

1929 Exhibits Star Picture Stamps -- Babe Ruth
$740

This little known and scarce issue was produced by the Exhibit Supply Company in 1929. It features mostly non-sports celebrities of the period. One of the eight "stamps" printed on the card shown above, however, is a black and white image of Babe Ruth--the only baseball player in the series. The set is not listed in the American Card Catalog. Ruth is depicted in his "uniform" from the film "The Babe Comes Home" (1927), thus the "A" in his cap. The reverse is designed for use as a postcard but has not been used as mail. Overall, a very clean card with a slight (one-inch) crease in the lower left quadrant.

Further details about the Exhibits Star Picture Stamps Set are provided on the Old Cardboard website..

1963 Red Stats Back Exhibits -- Mickey Mantle
$125

Unlike the "stat back" Exhibits of the previous year, all of the backs of the 1963 series are printed in red (as in the Mantle example offered here). The series is also the last of Exhibits cards that carried statistics on the backs.

The offered Mantle card should grade VG-EX or better despite the very light signs of wear in the two upper corners (see high-resolution scan for detail).

1948 Baseball's Great Hall of Fame Exhibits -- Babe Ruth
$360

A classic pose for the Great Bambino. Key card in a set featuring exclusivelly members of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

This exceptionally clean card of Ruth should grade EX or better (see high-resolution scan for detail).

Further information about the 1948 Baseball's Great Hall of Fame Exhibits Set is provided on the Old Cardboard website.
